HOUSTON, TX — A high-speed chase led by a teenager on the Katy Freeway that resulted in the death of a woman near the Heights on Sunday was caught on dash cam of the Harris County Constable deputy in pursuit.
Police have filed charges against Juan Jesus Sosa-Montes, 19, after a cat-and-mouse chase on the Katy Freeway (West I-10) ended in a crash at an intersection and left 57-year-old Leticia Ochoa Ali dead.
According to police, a Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constable attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Cadillac CTS driving at a high rate of speed on the Katy Freeway. The driver (Sosa-Montes) pulled his vehicle over to the side of the freeway just east of the Campbell Road exit and then took off to evade the deputy.

Sosa-Montes exited the freeway and continued to evade the deputy westbound on the Katy Freeway service road. Sosa-Montes then ran the red light at the intersection of Blalock and struck a blue Nissan Rogue traveling northbound on Blalock.
Debris from the crash struck a black Chevrolet Tahoe and one other vehicle. The occupants in those vehicles were not injured.

Ali died at the scene.
Sosa-Montes and his female passenger, 18, were both taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in serious condition.
The crash at 9300 Katy Freeway service road happened around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday (May 6). Sosa-Montes is charged with murder and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury in the 184th State District Court.
