Atascosita Man Arrested on Three Counts of Child Pornography

ATASCOSITA, TX — Matthew Kirkpatrick, 30, has been charged with three counts of possession of child pornography.

Kirkpatrick's arrest was the result of an investigation by the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable's Office's High Tech Crimes Unit. The constable's office received information from various social networks and file sharing services about the trafficking of images related to the sexual assault of children.

Investigators were able to pinpoint the IP address that was downloading the images, they were then able to tie that IP address to a physical address in Atascosita.

When the investigators executed a search warrant, they allegedly found several images of child pornography on a computer in Kirkpatrick's house.

Once an arrest warrant was issued, Kirkpatrick immediately posted a $60,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 26.
