On Monday, July 29, the Humble City Council met for a special meeting. The first item discussed on the agenda was approval of Resolution 19-809, which gives the City of Humble authorization to apply for the Method of Distribution for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-Disaster Recovery funds for the 2016 Memorial Day floods. The package stipulates an allocation of $2.05 million towards the city.
“We have been discussing this for several years; this is a formality at this point. The package is ready to go; all we have left to do is apply for it now. We will have a public hearing on August the 8th for public comment on the allocation. We will use the funds to make engineering improvements to the drainage way that runs through and out of Northshire subdivision,” said City Manager Jason Steube.
