City of Humble to raise water rates, welcomes public input on FEMA funds
At the Aug. 8 meeting of the Humble City Council, the board approved a resolution raising the water rates for residents by 1%. “These are still good rates,” Mayor Merle Aaron said.
The council also held a public hearing, soliciting input regarding usage of the 2016 Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) funding in response to FEMA Disaster 4269. Several community members were given the opportunity to ask questions, specifically in regard to the allocation of the $2.055 million for repairs to Black’s Bayou in Northshire. Additional questions and input were welcomed regarding the usage of the 2017 Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) funding in response to FEMA Disaster 4332. This allocation of $6 million may be made available to the City of Humble by the State of Texas General Land office and the Harris Country Community Services Department.
