Construction Begins At Kingwood Drive And Chestnut Ridge Intersection

Public Works will conduct a dual panel replacement project at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Chestnut Ridge.

KINGWOOD, TX — On Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 16, the City of Houston's Public Works and Engineering Department will conduct a dual panel replacement project at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Chestnut Ridge. Construction at this location will begin in the outside westbound lane of Kingwood Drive at Chestnut Ridge and after that panel replacement is complete the construction will move to the inside westbound lane of Kingwood Drive at Chestnut Ridge.

The crews will work between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to avoid excess congestion during peak hours. The outside westbound lane will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12. Kingwood Drive is expected to have both westbound lane repairs at Chestnut Ridge completed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, pending no weather delays.

At least one lane will remain open at all times in each direction, however intermittent delays are expected during construction. As a result, Council Member Martin has alerted the Houston Police Department's Kingwood Substation and has asked that officers help with traffic mitigation when possible. Additionally, traffic control measures will be in place on site including traffic barrels, traffic cones, directional signage and flagmen.
