Torrential rainstorms associated with Tropical Storm Imelda inundated residences and businesses around the Humble area Sept. 19, including the FamilyTime Crisis and Counseling Center’s domestic violence emergency shelter, The Door.
As the floodwaters began to rise in the shelter, the women and children were evacuated and brought to a temporary shelter while the staff worked tirelessly to find space at other domestic violence shelters.
