Kingwood, TX -- For those not interested in braving the traffic or the crowds associated with Freedom Over Houston, there is an option to celebrate the Fourth of July closer to home.
The city of Kingwood is hosting a Fourth of July event from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Town Center Park, 8 N. Main St., the event will feature music from a variety of local bands and musicians.
From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Andy Rodriguez and Black Cat Ridge will perform. At 6 p.m. That 70's Thing takes the stage and will work through a catalog of disco, soft rock, prog rock, Southern rock and punk rock classics.

At 9 p.m. there will be a traditional fireworks display.
