Kingwood Man Arrested After Shooting Ex-Wife's New Husband: Cops
Jeffrey Michael Pitts, 52, is accused of shooting his ex-wife's husband while they tried to repossess his car, police said.
KINGWOOD, TX — A Kingwood man was arrested after he allegedly shot his ex-wife’s husband while they were trying to repossess his car. The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigator said the suspect's ex-wife and her new husband were at the suspect's home in the 700 block of Anderson Road to repossess his car after he got behind on his payments.
When they got into his car, the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Jeffrey Michael Pitts, ran outside firing a weapon. One of the bullets hit the woman’s husband in the stomach. Pitts ran back into the home, while the woman and her husband fled the area.

Investigators said the couple met EMS at the intersection of Northpark Drive and Loop 494, and rush the man to Conroe Regional Hospital, where he is recovering.
Police and SWAT went to the home, and Pitts initially barricaded himself but later surrendered without incident.

Pitts was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held without bond.
