Kingwood opened the District 22-6A boys’ basketball season at home on Friday with a resounding 69-46 victory over South Houston.
The Mustangs rallied from a 13-10 first-quarter deficit with a 22-6 run over the next eight minutes and enjoyed a 32-19 lead at halftime.
Trailing at 15-10, Kingwood scored 14 unanswered points to pull all the momentum on the side of the Mustangs. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Chris Mullins and Tommy Neuman sparked the rally and gave the Mustangs a lead they never relinquished.
