Patton Village Council Removes Police Chief and Captain

Patton Village City Council recently voted to remove the city's police chief and captain.

PATTON VILLAGE, TX — Citing a lack of confidence, the Patton Village City Council voted to remove the city's police chief and a captain in the police department.

The council felt that former chief Pete Verot and former captain Gerald Eagleton were failing to enforce city ordinances and that there was a consistent pattern of things not getting done, according to statements Patton Village Mayor Leah Tarrant gave to the Conroe Courier.

Although Verot's employment with the city is effectively terminated, Eagleton may be able to remain with the Patton Village Police Department, just not as a captain.
