San Jacinto Bayou Greenway: three miles of recreational trails

At the January meeting, the Kingwood Area Super Neighborhood Council heard from Lisa Kasianowitz and John Brandt of the Houston Parks Board about the San Jacinto Bayou Greenway Project. It is in the final phases of planning for construction along the north side of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River from Hwy. 59 to River Grove Park in Kingwood. Its greenway trails are expected to be open to the public by the end of August 2022. The presentation included detailed maps and artist renderings of the trails along the length of the greenway which will enhance an area that has been chronically flood prone and progressively abandoned in the years since Hurricane Harvey.
