St. Thomas graduate receives international scholarship

Douglas Farenholz of Kingwood, a recent graduate of St. Thomas High School, won a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) Scholarship to study Mandarin abroad for a year during the 2019-2020 school year.
“Douglas is one of 10 students out of 3,500 applicants to receive the scholarship,” said David Farenholz, Douglas’ father.
Farenholz’s journey to receiving this scholarship started a while back after a period of self-reflection.
