Frisco Barricade: Suspect Accused Of Shooting Trooper In Custody
An hours long barricade at the La Valencia at Starwood apartment complex on Lebanon Road ended Saturday morning.

FRISCO, TX — A suspect accused of shooting and injuring a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was taken into custody after an hours long barricade at a Frisco apartment complex that began on Friday, police said.
In a statement, the DPS said a trooper was trying to conduct a traffic stop around 2:15 p.m. on Friday on the Dallas North Tollway near Spring Creek for a traffic violation. The driver evaded the trooper for an unknown reason, the DPS said.
The driver went north to the 6800 block of Lebanon Road and stopped in an apartment complex parking lot. The DPS said that at some point after the vehicle stopped, the trooper was shot.

According to NBC-DFW, the suspect was identified as Brian M. Cahill, 42, of Frisco. Cahill is accused of firing several shots at officers as they attempted to arrest him, according to NBC-DFW.
He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, NBC-DFW reported. The state trooper is in stable condition and is recovering.

Residents of the La Valencia at Starwood apartment complex were gradually allowed back in. Police said all but building four of the complex is now open to residents.
