Man Sentenced To Life For Second Sexual Abuse Of Child Conviction
A 34-year-old man from Garland was sentenced Tuesday for the sexual abuse of two young girls, his second such conviction.

COLLIN COUNTY, TX — A 34-year-old Garland man previously convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecent exposure was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison for sexual abuse of two young girls ages 7 and 12.
A child told her school guidance counselor in November 2016 that she had been assaulted by Steven Glen Baugh, 34, the DA said in a press release. A sergeant from Collin County Sheriff's Department investigated the claim and found the abuse began when the girl was 6 or 7 and continued until she was 8.
A warrant was issued and Baugh was arrested at his house in Garland.

Three days before Baugh was to face trial in July 2017, a relative of Baugh came forward at a church youth retreat and revealed that she had been assaulted by Baugh when she was 12, the DA said.
A detective investigated the case and worked with the DA to bring new charges against Baugh.

Baugh was found guilty in a recent trial and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Baugh was convicted in 2004 for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and served five years in prison for the offense. He was also convicted in 2014 of indecent exposure.
Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Abigail Policastro and Crystal Levonius prosecuted the case. They were aided by District Attorney Investigator Kim Voight Eanes and Victims Assistance Coordinator Susanne Riggs.
