Watch out, Texas - the Sunshine Band is coming to your state! Grab your tickets before it’s too late; KC & The Sunshine Band will be moving and grooving on Saturday, November 2nd at the Comerica Center at 6PM. This iconic band has been entertaining audiences around the world for over 40 years, selling more than 100 million records along the way.
The leader and founder of the band, and proclaimed “Founder of the Dance Revolution,” Harry Wayne Casey is a true legend. Since the foundation of the band in 1973, KC & The Sunshine band has been featured in every major sporting event in the world, over 200 motion picture film soundtracks, every national holiday parade and nearly every wedding to date. You can still find them touring the world with dates all-year long.
Growing up in a multi-ethnic area exposed KC to a lot of different cultures and music, "I experimented at trying to put Pop, Reggae and Latin music together. I remember that I always wanted to do something that would make people forget about their problems and be happy, and the Sunshine Sound was born.” recalls KC.
