Eleanor Rose Yanke-Lefler, age 80, late of Plainfield, and formerly of Chicago and Cicero, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Edward Hospital, Naperville.

Born November 29, 1938 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Rose (nee Nespechal) Hudrlik. Eleanor married John Yanke, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1974. She later married Ronald Lefler, and he died in 1990. One sister, Dorothy Nemec, also preceded her in death.

Eleanor loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Michael (Laura) Yanke of Shorewood, John (Liz) Yanke of Plainfield, and Tammy (Sean) Meier of McKinney, TX; her grandchildren, Krista (Adam) Follenweider, Courtnie Yanke, Jordan Brandon, Joe Yanke, Matt Yanke, Luke Yanke, Ashley (David) Adam, Aubrey Meier and Brooke Meier; four great-grandchildren, Jaclyn, Jackson, Theo and Avery; her brother, Ron (Lois) Hudrlik; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Eleanor R. Lefler will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, and will conclude with a moment of remembrance at 8:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment in Bohemian National Cemetery, Chicago, will be at a later date.
