Xplor® Preschool & School Age Care Hosts Ladybug Release

Students celebrated the environment by releasing thousands of beneficial bugs in their schoolyard

Students at Xplor Preschool & School Age Care on Stonebridge Drive in McKinney have caught the environmental bug! On April 20, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing thousands of ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students were dressed for the occasion in the likeness of ladybugs, wearing red and black colors. Throughout the day, students and their families also prepared potted plants to take home with them. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Xplor teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
