Houston Bar Burglary Bungled By Alert Homeless Man

Homeless man was sleeping near the bar when he awoke to the men breaking into the El Zorro Bar. Two men were arrested.

HOUSTON, TX — Two men allegedly tried to break into the El Zorro Bar in southwest Houston late Wednesday, only to have their operation foiled by a homeless man who was woken up nearby.

The homeless man had a cell phone and called 91-1- to report the burglary.

Police say the two suspects pried open the back door to the bar and were attempting to steal the ATM and flat screen TVs when police arrived. The suspects fled, but were eventually found with a K-9 unit.
