JCPenney Hiring Spree: 500 New Jobs In Houston

The company, which is looking for workers in communities nationwide, is offering health benefits.

J.C. Penney, which in February said it would close 138 stores around the nation 2017, this week announced a hiring spree and is looking to fill 500 positions in the Houston area, including hair stylists, cashiers, beauty consultants, and customer service representatives.

According to a release from the company, the department store is offering 401k enrollment and health benefits for full-time employees.

“JCPenney associates enjoy competitive pay, an associate discount up to 25%, flexible scheduling and opportunities for advancement,” the company said in the statement.

While the release did not list the stores in Houston that would be hiring, a spokesperson said interested applicants should apply in-store at applicant kiosks or online by visiting JCPcareers.com.

In addition to Houston, the company is adding to its workforce across the country, including 300 positions in the San Antonio area, 350 jobs in the Sacramento area, 400 positions in Illinois, and 600 people in Ohio.
