Outdoor Retail Mammoth Closing All Of Its Stores: UPDATE
St. Paul, Minn.-based chain closed some locations in March after filing for bankruptcy.
Updated on May 8: Gander Mountain has announce that it is closing all of its stores and going out of business. An announcement on the company's website states that Gander Mountain was purchased by Camping World Holdings, Inc., but did not say if any of the closed Gander stores — there are 126 of them nationwide — would reopen under the Camping World brand.
The company has begun a liquidation sale at all of its locations, and announced that gift cards would be accepted until May 18.
All sales final. No refunds, no exchanges or adjustments for prior purchases. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express Cards. Not all items in all stores. Inventory is limited to stock on hand. These stores are not participating in current circulars.
HOUSTON, TX — Gander Mountain, the St. Paul, Minn.-based chain of outdoor recreation and sporting stores, filed for bankruptcy on Friday and announced it was closing 32 stores, including three in Houston.

The affected Houston-area stores are located at 19820 Hempstead Highway, 13441 Westhheimer Road, and 19890 Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land.
“Despite aggressive actions to improve the efficiency of the company’s retail operations and support functions, the underlying financial impact from underperforming stores and unproductive, excess inventory hampered efforts to create a sustainable path forward,” the company said in a statement.
