Rodeo Houston Unveils New Concert Stage: VIDEO
Rodeo Houston will replace the stage they've used the last 30 years with a more modern stage that rotates
HOUSTON, TX — Rodeo Houston will upgrade its concert stage for the 2018 season, and they unveiled the details and renderings of its new state-of-the-art stage on Tuesday. Although the rodeo's executive committee approved construction of a new stage last year, the specifics and unveiling were unavailable until now.
The setting will rest on a star that can be risen from its points to elevate the stage even more than the 7 feet it will be at normal height. The rotating stage itself will be 8 feet bigger in diameter at a 48-foot diameter. Each of the five points on the perimeter can be raised or lowered individually.
Tait Towers is a firm based in Pennsylvania hired to design the stage that will also have a 22-foot-tall, motion-controlled LED backdrop video screen and an automated positioning system.

Rodeo Houston is one of the most-attended events annually in Houston and the greater metro area. Though its concerts receive the most attention, folks flock to the rodeo for rodeo competitions, livestock competitions, carnivals, kids activities and a popular region-wide barbecue cook-off.
