Westbury, Bellaire Football Teams Open District Tonight
Kickoff for both games is 7 p.m. as 18-6A slate begins

HOUSTON, TX — Two schools in the Meyerland area will kick off their District 18-6A football schedules tonight. The Bellaire varsity football team (1-1) opens District 18-6A tonight against the Chavez Lobos. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Delmar Stadium. Westbury (1-1) will host Westside at Butler Stadium at 7 p.m. The first two games of the season were cancelled because of Hurricane Harvey.

The Cardinals beat Pasadena, 35-0, in the season opener and lost to La Porte, 27-10 last week. Chavez enters tonight's contest with an 0-2 record and have been outscored, 135-14, in that span.

Westbury defeated Northbrook, 42-13, in the season opener and lost a nail biter last week to North Forest, 27-24. Westside is 0-2 and the Wolves have been outscored 104-28.
There will be no games on Friday in observance of Yom Kippur. Next week Bellaire plays Heights High in another district game. Westbury will play Chavez.
