Astros Home Opener Festivities Could Be Insane Monday
Monday night will be the first time Houston will play at home since winning the World Series six months ago. The festivities should be fun!

HOUSTON, TX — There's nothing like Opening Day for Major League Baseball, especially the home opener. Then there's what is about to happen at Minute Maid Park today. After starting the season with a 3-1 record on the road at the Texas Rangers, the Houston Astros make their long-awaited visit home as they host the Baltimore Orioles Monday evening for the home opener for 2018.
This will be Houston's first home game since the dramatic 13-12 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 that went extra innings during the 2017 World World Series, which the Astros won in Game 7 at Dodger Stadium.
But the party starts long before the opening pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday. Fans can help the reigning World Series Champs start their 2018 season with live music from The Emotions, games, local food trucks and more. A street party begins at 1 p.m., and this includes fun for all ages with inflatables, yard games, face painters and caricaturists. Fans can also see interviews with AJ Hinch, Jeff Lunhow and some of the 2017 World Champion Houston Astros. A game ticket for Monday night is required for entry into the Opening Day Street Fest.

The Astros looked like they were in midseason form when they took three of four games in Arlington over the weekend. Houston is tied with the Los Angeles Angels, who went 3-1 on opening weekend against Oakland, in the American League West.
