Updated: Cyclist Killed in Collision With Metro Train in Downtown Houston
Unidentified female was struck near the zoo; police are investigating the incident.

Updated at 3:10 p.m.: The cyclist who died when she was struck by a METRORail train this morning in downtown Houston did not have the right of way during the incident, according to the transit organization. Authorities have yet to release her identity.
HOUSTON, TX — A female cyclist is dead after being struck by a METRORail train around 8:30 Friday morning near Hermann Park. Authorities have not released her identity and are investigating the incident.
According to KTRK TV, the victim's body was trapped beneath the train and could not be immediately moved.

Fannin Street was closed in both directions following the collision.
The train involved runs on the Red Line. Rail service was suspended, but METRO Houston announced that all service had been resumed around 10:30 this morning.
