Harris County Assistant DA Fired For Lying On Job Application
Bovell started her job on Monday and almost lasted three days, according to Harris County DA's office.

HOUSTON, TX — Just three days into her new job as an assistant district attorney with the Harris County DA's office, Marlene Bovell was fired for lying on her application. In a statement issued, Bovell was fired Wednesday for lying on her employment application.
Novell started her new job Monday as an assistant district attorney assigned to the misdemeanor division. One question on her Harris County District Attorney Office job application asked if she'd ever been arrested or convicted of a crime anywhere aside from minor traffic violations. Her answer? "No."
On Wednesday, Bovell confessed her white lie.

The DA's office said a traditional background check indicated Bovell didn't show any information that she'd had any previous encounters with law enforcement.
Bovell earned a license to practice law in November 2017 by The State Bar of Texas, which conducts fingerprint checks of applicants.

Bovell previously worked as an assistant district clerk at the Harris County District Clerk's Office from July 2013 to July 2015 .
