Houston Lawyer Wins Key West Key Lime Pie Eating Contest
Trey Bergman gulped down Florida's Official Pie in 51.92 seconds flat.
Whipped cream, key lime, sugar, and a crust: How fast could you eat one of those things? You know, the iconic pie that is sold around the world and was made the official Florida State Pie in 2006. We're talking an entire pie, not a slice.
That's what 21 contestants endeavored to do on Tuesday in Key West, Florida, at the Key Lime Festival, without using their hands.
Coming out on top of the field was Trey Bergman, who hails from Houston. He wore a yellow swimming cap while devouring his pie, as reported by Click2Houston, claiming that it helped him make his way through the fluff of the whipped cream and lime filling faster and get to the crust more quickly.
