Houston Woman Accused Of Defrauding Federal Clean-Air Program
Officials: Shonda Renee Stubblefield stole $126,000, faces 10-count indictment.

HOUSTON, TX — Falsified timesheet and invoices are the focus of a scheme allegedly carried out by a 45-year-old Houston woman who is sought by authorities and is facing indictment for a series of charges, including theft of public money and mail fraud.
Shonda Renee Stubblefield, 45, is accused of stealing $126,000 from the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement program in the Houston area. The program seeks to improve the air quality by reducing traffic congestion.
Stubblefield faces a potential 20 years in prison for the mail and wire fraud charges, as well as additional incarceration for the other charges filed against her.

KPRC reported that law enforcement officials said that Stubblefield used World Corporation Inc., a company she owned, to take part in the federally funded program. She then stole the funds by producing fraudulent documents and bank records.
