ICE Deports Man Arrested In Houston Apartment
A man who was approached by ICE agents looking for someone else was deported to Guatemala after a deportation order was discovered.

HOUSTON, TX — A man who was approached by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), who was looking for someone else at the time at a Houston apartment complex, was deported to Guatemala on Wednesday, according to a report by the Associated Press.
The family of the deported man, Carlos Gudiel Andres, said that agents told him they were looking for someone else. Andres' family said the agents asked him if he knew the person they were looking for, and then asked for his ID, thus discovering an active deportation order against him. An ICE spokesperson said Thursday that Andres, indeed, was taken to Guatemala.
FIEL, a Houston-based, immigrant-led organization that advocates for just laws for immigrant youth, their families, and access to higher education for all people regardless of immigration status, said ICE agents detained Andres at his apartment in January.
