LEGO Animals Take Over The Houston Zoo

Artist has taken 777,000 LEGO blocks and made his own menagerie.

HOUSTON, TX — The animals don't seem to mind, but the regular residents of the Houston Zoo have some temporary guests, and while they don't move all that rapidly, they are attracting a lot of interest from visitors. They're LEGO animals, and they are made of 770,000 blocks of the popular building toy.

The inanimate animals are part of "Nature Connects," which will be installed at the zoo through September 4.

“I hope that you can look at Nature Connects and appreciate both nature and the sculptures as something beautiful, and I also hope you’re inspired to go home and create something wonderful yourself,” Sean Kenney, the artist behind the exhibit, told the Houston Chronicle.
