Man Stabbed To Death Near Midtown McDonald's
Fight occurred at stretch of sidewalk known to police as dangerous area.

HOUSTON, TX — A fight led to two men being stabbed, one of them fatally, outside a McDonalds in Midtown on Friday morning. The incident took place on the sidewalk under the Pierce Elevated.
According to the Houston Police Department, the men began struggling on the sidewalk, where the victim was stabbed. A bystander attempted to intervene, but he was also stabbed.
The two injured men made it to a nearby McDonald's parking lot, where they both collapsed. One of them died later, and the second man is in serious condition in a local hospital.

According to KTRK, the suspect ran from the scene but was apprehended by onlookers and later taken into custody by police officers.
The area under the Pierce Elevated where the incident took place is well known to EMT and police officers, and the Houston Fire Department has responded to more than 100 calls to the locations so far this year.
