National Weather Service Issues Hazardous Conditions Warning for Houston Area

Temperatures reaching into the mid-80s this week, combined with lower humidity, spark wildfire fears.

It's early February, but Mother Nature seems to not know that, at least in the Houston area this week, where record highs are expected Tuesday and Wednesday and unseasonably warm temperatures will persist through the start of next week.

A high of 87 is expected on Wednesday, which would be an area record.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook on Tuesday, stating that it would be monitoring fire weather conditions north of Highway 59, "where warm temperatures and low humidities are expected.
