NCAA Basketball Tournament: Michigan' Last-Second Dagger To UH

HOUSTON, TX — These plays happen every March during the NCAA Basketball Tournament. There's always a 3-point buzzer beater that shakes up your bracket and ends the season of one team. Any Houston Cougars fan will most likely never forget Saturday's Michigan game.

A series of events unfolded near the end of the Second Round game in Wichita, Kansas. The Cougars held a 63-61 lead and sent one of its best players to the line for two free throw shots with four seconds remaining. Devin Davis missed both.

Michigan called a timeout with 3.6 seconds left.

The Wolverines inbounded the ball with a strong right-hand pass. The player took two dribbles to half court and shuffled a risky pass to freshman Jordan Poole, who launched a 27-foot shot at the buzzer. It rattled inside the rim. Then fell. Right. Through.

The loss sends Michigan, the No. 3 seed in the West Region, to the Sweet 16 where they'll face 7-seed Texas A&M. Meanwhile, the No. 6-seeded Cougars end their season.

Then there was this show of class by one Michigan player to a UH kid distraught over the last-second loss.

And the Houston fans showed up to show their appreciation for the Cougars, who finished the season 27-8.
