Rockets Aim For Win 60 Tuesday Night Against The Bulls

The Houston Rockets would hit 60 wins for the first time in franchise history, and move one game closer to home-court advantage in playoffs

HOUSTON, TX — With their 23-point win over New Orleans and 19-point victory over Atlanta last weekend, the Houston Rockets won their 59th game of the season, setting a franchise win for most wins in a regular season. Now the Rockets look to hit 60, and it could come Tuesday night at the Toyota Center.

The Houston Rockets will host the Chicago Bulls at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and the game means more than hitting franchise milestones. It means one game closer to clinching home-court advantage throughout the NBA playoffs.

The Rockets have eight games remaining, and probably need four wins to clinch the league's best record — just three wins with another Golden State loss. Two of those games remaining will be against Chicago and Phoenix, both bottom-feeder teams this season. Then there are a slew of games against teams vying for the final playoff spots.

“The good thing is we’re able to rest some guys, get them back, and before this season is over we’ve got really hard games coming up," Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said in the Houston Chronicle. "So, should be able to get us right back to where we were with everybody kind of rested. So, the schedule we made it play out for us because we’ve won some hard games earlier. At the end, we can do what we need to do, but I think we’re in good shape.”
