Watch Solar Eclipse Without Buying Fancy Glasses
Houston Museum of Natural Science makes Facebook Live post on how to make a homemade viewing device
HOUSTON, TX — The upcoming solar eclipse has been one of the nation's hottest topics — pun intended. News outlets have charted the path of the pending Aug. 21 event and scams on how to buy viewing glasses have already found their ways to the internet. In fact, NASA actually does sell legitimate viewing glasses.
The Houston Museum of Natural Science posted a video on Facebook Live this afternoon that demonstrates how to make your own personal viewing devices by using things you may already have around the house.
The museum will also have a special event from noon-2 p.m. on Aug. 21 that explains the phenomena.
