Lockout Mode At 2 Austin Schools Lifted (Updated)
Anonymous bomb threats led police to safeguard Vandegrift High School and Four Points Middle School on Friday afternoon.

Update: The lockout modes that were put into place at Vandegrift High School and Four Points Middle School have been lifted, according to reports. Anonymous bomb threats had prompted police to respond to both campuses to ensure both campuses were safe. No explosive devices were found, prompting the lockout mode to be lifted at both schools. Regular schedules at both campuses have resumed as a result.
AUSTIN, TX — Vandegrift High School and Four Points Middle School were on lockout mode amid police activity Friday afternoon.
Spectrum News reports the high school has been on lockout since 12:15 p.m. as a safety precaution. Fox 7 Austin added that the middle school also was on lockout, with police sending in a bomb squad to assess any threats to the schools in the northwest part of the city.

It's unclear what prompted the actions by Leander ISD officials. Patch will update when more details are known.

According to Spectrum News, Leander ISD sent a letter to parents alerting to the ongoing investigation at the two campuses. Despite the police activity, the schools are expected to proceed as normal except for outside activities that have been canceled.
