NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Emergency crews on Thursday rescued five crash victims pinned to a vehicle, including one patient with life-threatening injuries and three teenagers and a child sustaining less-serious injuries.

The incident requiring three ambulances was reported just before 10:05 a.m. at the intersection of Rundberg Lane and Quailfield Circle in North Austin. The person with the most severe injuries — deemed critical and life-threatening — was found unconscious, prompting medics to perform CPR before hospital transport, officials wrote on Twitter.

Some local media outlets have reported the most severely injured crash victim has died, but police have not confirmed the accounts. The Austin Police Department has scheduled a press conference with more details on Thursday afternoon, and Patch will update when more information is known.
