Aimee Mann In Concert: The Paramount To Host Singer On January 18

Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning singer set to perform ahead of her first album release in five years titled "Mental Illness".

AUSTIN, TX -- Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning singer Aimee Mann will perform at the Paramount Theatre on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 8 PM in anticipation of her upcoming album release "Mental Illness", her first album in five years. Mental Illness follows her 2012 album, "Charmer" which Rolling Stone declared, "shows off the more pop-oriented side to her usual acoustic tendencies." With her follow-up album to be released March 31 via SuperEgo Records, Mann returns to her soft-spoken but lyrically sharp approach demonstrated in the lead single, "Goose Snow Cone."

The singer-songwriter observes human behavior and translates it to lyrics and melody that articulate the inner depth of human nature. Having begun her solo career in 1993, Mann encountered independent success and founded her record label, SuperEgo Records. Her music has been featured in numerous film soundtracks, most notably for Paul Thomas Anderson's film "Magnolia" for which the song "Save Me" garnered Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. To date, Mann continues to create music that trigger feelings of melancholy while shining a spotlight on the hauntingly accurate descriptions of the flawed human spirit.
