Celebrate National Frozen Custard Day In Pflugerville

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Hallmark may not have gotten around to designing a card for "National Frozen Custard Day" observed on Thursday, but it's a thing and there's some tasty ways to celebrate.

Andy’s Frozen Custard will celebrate National Frozen Custard Day on Thursday with 86 cent cones all day, officials said.

The sale on Thursday, Aug. 8 will take place at more than 80 locations in 13 states — including 17 Andy’s Frozen Custard stores in Texas where there is one in store in Pflugerville. Customers can enjoy delicious cones with choice of creamy vanilla or chocolate frozen custard, freshly made each hour, using the finest blend of ingredients for less than a dollar.

“At Andy’s, we’re dedicated to providing the perfect handcrafted frozen treats,” Andy’s Frozen Custard President and Owner Andy Kuntz said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to celebrating National Frozen Custard Day while raising our cones with customers new and old!”

Custard, which is made from milk, cream, and egg yolks has been on the Shake Shack menu since their first location, Shake Shack officials explained. Company founder Danny Meyer grew up in St. Louis, frequenting iconic frozen custard spots (they were a staple in the Midwest) and knew that it needed a prime place on Shake Shack’s menu, officials said. Today, Shacks serve rich + creamy custard by the scoop, in shakes + in concretes worldwide.
