Austin Area Kids Can Enjoy In-Person Or Virtual Summer Camp
Austin Parks & Rec will open their summer camp lottery registration for Austin-area families to register their little ones for summer camp.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX—Austin area families are invited to register their kiddos for Summer Camp when Austin Parks and Recreation (PARD) launches registration for a choice of a free virtual program, "Stay Creative", or an in-person summer camp. The in-person camp will be modified to conform to federal, state, and local health authorities guidelines for COVID-19 health and safety.
The Stay Creative Virtual Summer Camp will run Monday, June 7 - Friday, Aug. 13 at participating Recreation Centers, Nature Centers and Cultural Centers. Campers will enjoy the basic principles and elements of art, culture and history offered by the PARD's museums and cultural centers.
The In-Person Camp will be held Monday, June 21 - Friday, Aug. 13 at participating Recreation Center, Nature Centers, and Cultural Centers. Applicants will be able to register April 19-May 16 to participate in a random lottery drawing for limited in-person camps. The in-person camp will be $120 per week with $20 due upon acceptance of their lottery spot. Priority will be given to residents of the City of Austin. Financial aid applications will be accepted and may be accessed at Austin Parks and Recreation Department Financial Aid | AustinTexas.gov.
