Austin PD, FBI Seek Help ID'ing Suspect Linked To Bank Robbery

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a man possibly linked to a North Austin credit union robbery.

The man is identified as thin standing at 5-foot-5 or 5-foot-6 and was last seen wearing a black hat, sunglasses, a blue-button down shirt, jeans, blue gloves and a surgical-style mask, authorities said Tuesday.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a man possibly linked to a North Austin credit union robbery.

The man is identified as thin standing at 5-foot-5 or 5-foot-6 and was last seen wearing a black hat, sunglasses, a blue-button down shirt, jeans, blue gloves and a surgical-style mask, authorities said Tuesday.

Police said the man entered United Heritage Credit Union at 12208 N. Mo-Pac Expressway on Friday and presented the teller a note demanding money as well as threatening he had a weapon. He then fled the scene in a black sedan.

Authorities said no one was injured during the incident. The department's Robbery Unit is working in conjunction with the FBI Central Texas Violent Crime Task Force to investigate the robbery.

This is the first bank robbery to take place in Austin in 2021, officials said. Around this time last year, there were six bank and credit union robberies.
