Austin police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed a woman on Thursday in Northeast Austin.
AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are investigating a fatal crash that killed a woman on Thursday in Northeast Austin as a hit-and-run.
The woman, whose identity has yet to be released, was found dead in the 7200 block of Cameron Road at Thursday morning, officials said.

Police said the woman was struck by a white 2015 Ford Fiesta when the driver of the car fled the scene.
On Wednesday, officials identified the woman as 46-year-old Cynthia Maria Leonard.

Authorities said this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the department's Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at 512-974-4278. People can also use the Crime Stoppers tip line at 512-472-8477 (TIPS), or the Crime Stoppers app. Individuals may remain anonymous.
Any information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, police said.
Officials report this incident is the 22 fatality for the year and Austin’s 20th fatal traffic crash of 2021.
