Belmont Village Lakeway opens

Belmont Village Senior Living opens newest community in Lakeway

The much-anticipated Belmont Village Senior Living Lakeway opened with plenty of fanfare this weekend, with more than 400 people in attendance and remarks by State Rep. Paul Workman and Lakeway’s new Mayor Sandy Cox.

Attendees toured the vibrant new senior living community and its amenities, learned about Belmont Village’s premier programs and services, listened to live music by the New Evangeline Quartet and enjoyed a taste of Belmont Village, specially prepared by its award-winning chefs.

Belmont Village Lakeway offers options for independent living, assisted living and an acclaimed memory care program, all in a 130,000 square foot Mediterranean-style building on 10 wooded acres offering studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Located at 107 Bella Montagna Circle, its amenities include a professionally managed fitness center, heated saltwater pool, full service salon, movie screening room, chef-prepared dining, housekeeping and transportation services, and courtyards with outdoor dining patios and gardens.

The Austin area has the second-fastest senior population in the country, and demand for quality senior living is very high. Lakeway is especially ideal for Belmont’s new location, with longtime residents looking to downsize, and families who want aging parents to be near them.

Maxine and Richard Nichols are among the 157 senior residents who will live at Belmont Village’s new Lakeway community. The couple has been married for 63 years and moved to Central Texas more than 30 years ago from Michigan to escape the cold and be closer to their children.

The couple says they realized life at home wasn’t getting any easier as they got older and are looking forward to making the move into Belmont Village. "After 60-something years of cooking, you get tired of cooking," Maxine says.

"I think when you get to our age, it's time to think what's going to happen next. As long as the two of us are together that's fine, but if one of us is not here that's not so good. So, if the transition is done first, then it'll be much better, I hope," says Maxine.

Each Belmont Village community is purpose-built and licensed to provide the highest level of care throughout the building, offering flexibility for residents if their needs change, and allowing couples with differing needs to stay together. A licensed nurse is on-site 24/7.

“One of the primary goals at Belmont Village Senior Living is to create a place that fosters a sense of independence in each of our residents, no matter where they are in life. A place where getting older isn’t the end of the road, it’s a new opportunity,” says Clint Strickland, executive director of Belmont Village Lakeway.

This is Houston-based Belmont’s 28th community, its fifth in Texas and second in the Austin area; Belmont Village West Lake Hills, opened in 2014.

“We’re excited to be expanding our footprint in Austin, and very pleased to be able to provide another much-needed, top-quality option for area residents,” says Patricia Will, Belmont Village founder and CEO.

In addition to expansive common areas and high-end hospitality services, Belmont Village communities provide a Whole Brain Fitness lifestyle, with a range of enrichment programs to help maintain physical and mental acuity at all levels. Residents with early to moderate memory loss benefit from Belmont Village’s award-winning Circle of Friends® program, and residents with later stage loss from its dedicated Person-Centered Living® program, which includes a full daily calendar of activities.

“We design our programs in much the same way that we design our buildings,” Will says. “We integrate the latest research available, and translate that into fun, engaging programs that support our residents’ own goals of living full, purposeful lives at every stage. Our job is to provide the right care and support to help our residents enjoy their full potential.
