The library’s Summer Reading competition is back, and the fun begins on June 5. Join in a friendly competition to see which team can rack up the most reading hours this summer. This year, the competition is virtual, and you can choose to compete on the same team as your family or go solo.
Join the Adult Summer Reading Challenge! Read books in at least eight categories to get a library tote bag with a branded tumbler, a $5 gift card to a local business, a book, and other goodies. Four winners will be randomly selected to win a $25 gift card to Out of Print. The challenge starts on June 5 and entries will be accepted through July 31 (18 and up).

It is important to be prepared and keep an eye on the weather. Pflugerville has received more than 6 inches of rain the last week and rain continues in the forecast for the coming week. As rain falls on already saturated grounds, we may see additional water accumulation on roadways. Please do not drive through standing water. For your vehicle, check that windshield wipers are working properly and not in need of repair. Reduce speed on slick roadways and allow extra distance between vehicles.

Pflugerville City Council will meet at the City Council Chambers, Suite 500 located at 100 E. Main Street in downtown Pflugerville on Tuesday, June 8 with a work session at 6 p.m. and regular meeting at 7 p.m. Masks are encouraged, but not required. Take the Resident Survey -The City of Pflugerville wants to hear from you for the 2021 Resident Survey. Every two years a survey is conducted to see how we're doing and measure feedback from our community. Surveys were mailed to a random sample of Pflugerville residents starting in April and more than 500 have been received. The results will be presented to City Council in June. Anyone interested in providing additional feedback may take the survey online. Visit pflugervilletx.gov/survey to take the survey today.

Pfarmers Market - Pfugerville Pfarmers Market is back with pfresh produce, meat and homemade goods, Tuesdays from 3-7 p.m. through October 26. Due to construction on Old Austin Hutto Road, the market will be located at Pflugerville First United Methodist Church,500 E. Pecan Street in the back parking lot. Roadway Construction - Construction continues at the intersection of FM 685 and Pecan Street adding a displaced left turn, an innovative intersection design that will provide congestion relief within the existing Right-of-Way . Detour options are available. Please drive carefully through the area and obey all signage.
June 9 - Reading & Rhyming with Mother Goose - Join Mother Goose for a virtual storytime for kids. The link to the video will be provided on the library's Facebook page on Wednesday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. This event is sponsored by Texas Commission on the Arts and Friends of the Pflugerville Library.
June 12 - Lucas Miller, the Singing Zoologist, Music Show - Children of all ages will learn about wetlands, monarch butterflies, food chains, and much more with Lucas Miller's dynamic virtual show. The link to the video will be provided on the library's Facebook page on Saturday, June 12 at 2: p.m. This event is sponsored by Texas Commission on the Arts and Friends of the Pflugerville Library.
June 25 - Music in the Park - Music in the Park returns to Pfluger Park this summer, on June 25 with music from Royal Velvete. Music in the Park is an outdoor concert series hosted at Pfluger Park (515 City Park Rd.) on Friday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. The series host a variety of diverse acts including jazz, Tejano, blues and classic rock.
