Cover 3 To Celebrate 10 Years In Austin

NORTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — Popular sports bar and restaurant COVER 3 is poised to celebrate its 10th anniversary at its original Anderson Lane location with a day-long football viewing party.

The bash is scheduled on Saturday, Nov. 10. Owners and Austin natives Doug Young and Matt Dodson said they decided to throw a special event as a thank you to the community for supporting their enterprise. Dubbed the "Great Texas Tailgate," the party is open to all ages.

Tickets to the event are on sale now for $20 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cover-3s-10th-anniversary-party-the-great-texas-tailgate-tickets-51741913456. The big party will be at 2700 W. Anderson Lane.

The Great Texas Tailgate is scheduled to take place in the parking lot immediately outside of the Anderson location’s main entrance. The event is set to conclude with the UT Longhorns vs Texas Tech Raiders college football game that will be shown live on a massive 6’9”x12’ high-def TV, organizers said.

At the event, COVER 3 will feature a variety of fun, and family-friendly activities, including but not limited to the following:

• Unlimited access to a complimentary spread of traditional tailgate staples like hand-dipped corn dogs, chili dogs and more, in addition to COVER 3-favorites like frito pie (as seen on Travel Channel’s “Food Paradise”) and chicken wings (which won “Best Wing” at the Austin Chicken Wing Festival this year).
• Live music performances from Suede, oft-labeled as “Austin’s Best Cover Band."
• Chicken-wing eating-competition.
• Lawn games, including cornhole, giant Jenga and more.
• Raffles and door prizes.
• Thousands of dollars in gift card giveaways.

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to Partnerships For Children (PFC), COVER 3’s official charity partner in Austin. PFC is a local nonprofit that provides critical resources to abused and neglected children in Central Texas who are in the care of Child Protective Services. To date, COVER 3 has donated more than $450,000 to PFC which has then gone on to support year-round initiatives and programs.
