PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Hawaiian Falls water park officials have scheduled a "Champions Day" on Saturday, offering free admission for special needs children and adults.

On June 18, champions -- special needs children and adults -- will get in free One family member or caregiver accompanying them will gain admission for just $5, and additional immediate family members also will be offered discounted admission of $19.99 (compared to regular admission of $34.99).

As part of the special day, Champions and their families will have exclusive access to the venue's parks from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the 10:30 a.m. opening hours for the general public, officials said. Champions and their families can then enjoy the park all day long at no additional charge.

“Champions Day is often a special needs child’s first visit to a waterpark,” said Clint Hill, Hawaiian Falls president & CEO. “People with sensory issues can have difficulty processing the exciting stimulus of our waterparks on a normal day, so we turn the volume of our music way down during this special time. We ask our staff to be patient and a much more lenient to accommodate our guests’ special needs. We also bring in extra staff to provide additional assistance to our special guests on Champions Day.”

Hill said the promotion was launched several years ago after hearing that special needs families otherwise wouldn't be able to enjoy the park.
“Special needs families often tell us that they wouldn’t be able to come to the waterpark without this offer,” explained Hill. “They never know if they’ll be able to stay an hour or all day. We’ve held Champions Days for several years now, and it always brings us great joy to see how much the families get out of this day. It truly exemplifies our core mission of bringing families closer together.”

In addition to the Pflugerville location, Hawaiian Falls sites in Garland, Mansfield, The Colony and Waco also will host Champions Day on June 18 and Aug. 13. Due to a scheduling conflict, the Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke will offer Champions Day on Aug. 13 only, officials said.
