It's Italian Cucina Chefs Celebrate 30 Years In Austin

AUSTIN, TX — For restaurateurs to reach 30 years of service in metamorphosing Austin undergoing constant growth — with attendant changing tastes among an ever-changing demographic — is quite the milestone. And yet, that's what proprietors of It's Italian Cucina are celebrating, with a special menu to mark the occasion.
Surely, this calls for a celebratory meal. The folks at It's Italian Cucina are poised to mark the moment with a very special Sparkling Wine Pairing Dinner scheduled Sept. 30 to laud their 30th anniversary this fall.
The Northern Italian restaurateurs, Chef Al Fini and Sharabella Fini, opened their first Austin location in 1989 with Cafe di Roma, ushing in six more successful neighborhood Italian restaurants followed. The culmination of this culinary trajectory is It’s Italian Cucina now in its second year.

To commemorate three decades of serving up their delicious wares, restaurateurs will offer a 30-Year Throwback Menu, a five-course tasting menu featuring some of the specialty dishes from each location, is paired with Italian sparkling wines — as a toast to each location.

Italian Sparkling Wine Pairing Dinner Celebrating 30 years of Culinary (1989-2019) at It's Italian Cucina. Enjoy popular dishes from the restauranteurs reflecting the past three decades, each paired with Italian sparking wines curated by Chef Fini.

- Antipasto: Insalata Strato, Truffled Roasted Eggplants with Tomatoes & Arugula (It’s Italian Cucina, 2019) with Benvolio Prosecco Veneto.
- Pasta:Tortellini dei Nobili, Cheese Filled Tortellini with Prosciutto, Mushrooms, Peas in a Cream Parmesan Sauce (Piccolo Cafe, 2000-2005) with Altemasi Brut Metodo Classico Trento.
- Pesce: Sogliola Mandorla, Sole Fillet Lightly Breaded, Pan Sautéed with Toasted Almond in a Garlic Butter Caper Sauce (Mamma Mia Ristorante, 1991-2000) with Ferrari Rose Brut Trento.
- Carne: Agnello con Fegato Grasso, Grilled Rack of Lamb and Foie Gras (Girasole 2000-2002) with Rotari “Flavio” Brut Riserva 2006 Trento.
