Latinx New Play Festival Showcases Local Talent
This year's digital platform festival spotlights the work of burgeoning playwrights paired with dramaturges, directors, and actors.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX—Teatro Vivo in collaboration with Scriptworks invites the community to the 2021 Austin Latinx New Play Festival (ALNPF)on a digital platform from Thursday, May 13 - Saturday, May 15 for audiences to enjoy. Presented in its ninth year, the ALNPF allows playwrights to hear, see, and receive feedback on their original work.
Bringing each playwright together with a dramaturg, director, and actors brings their play to life as a staged reading in front of audiences —taking place virtually in 2021 as a result of COVID-19. Playwrights of the selected pieces will collaborate with a dramaturg and directors hired by Teatro Vivo and Scriptworks to work on their plays and then present them with a facilitated talk back on zoom with the audience immediately following the public reading.
