Man Killed In Overnight North Austin Shooting
Austin police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in North Austin on Sunday night.
AUSTIN, TX — A man was killed in a shooting in North Austin Sunday night, according to police.
At 11:36 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a shots heard call at an apartment complex in the 800 block of W St. John's Avenue, near the intersection of N Lamar Boulevard, Officer Dimitri Hobbs, a spokesperson for Austin Police, said in a video news conference early Monday morning.

When officers arrived, they found a blood trail that lead them to a man with a gunshot wound. Hobbs said officers immediately started CPR on the man before medics arrived, but the man was later pronounced dead on scene.

Austin police announced Monday afternoon the identity of the man as Marcel Tramon Pimpton.
Authorities said detectives are continuing to seek out witnesses to find out how the shooting happened.

The Travis County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of the victim's death, police said. The case remains an ongoing investigation.

Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, authorities said.
