Movie Theater Offering Marathon 'Star Wars' Viewing Party

Tinseltown 20 one of just five Cinemark sites statewide showing all seven installments.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- May the Pforce be with Pflugerville.

The city’s Cinemark Tinseltown 20 movie theatre is one of only five in Texas offering a marathon viewing of all seven movies in the Star Wars franchise leading up to the much-anticipated latest episode, “The Force Awakens,” scheduled for release on Friday.

Needless to say, the new installment is sure to break attendance records given the pent-up excitement. Diehard fans of the entire franchise (Jar Jar Binks of “Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace” infamy notwithstanding) will get their fix this week, capped off with their viewing of the latest installment in 3-D.

“All seven movies, one epic journey,” is how theatres are billing their marathon event kicking off Thursday at 3 a.m. (AMC Theaters also is staging marathons, but none in the area.) Those who bought tickets in time for the now-sold-out event will be provided 3-D glasses to view “The Force Awakens.”

The Pflugerville theatre is one of just a handful Cinemark theaters offering the marathon viewing opportunity, with the others located in Dallas, El Paso, Plano and the Woodlands. The local theater is located at 15436 Farm-to-Market road 1825.

That’s 13 hours and 22 minutes of viewing time—excluding the new chapter. Fans better have the force of stamina for this, or at least a comfortable seat pillow.
