Pflugerville Offices, Facilities Closed On Tuesday Due To Storm

A winter storm is expected to bring sleet and freezing rain, making driving dangerous on area roadways.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — All Pflugerville offices and facilities will be closed on Tuesday in anticipation of a harsh winter storm, officials said.

City Hall, the Pflugerville Recreation Center, library and Animal Welfare Services are among the functions that will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, in light of the wintry weather. Those seeking details can call 512-990-6700.

Pflugerville is among a list of cities where closures are taking place in an effort to prevent people from taking to the roads in icy conditions forecast for Tuesday.

"Based on information from the National Weather Service, freezing rain and ice accumulation could be between one-tenth and one-fourth of an inch, road conditions are expected to be dangerous," city officials wrote in a press advisory. "Please stay off the roads.Residents are asked to turn sprinkler systems off. Protect people, pets, plants and pipes. Trash pickup may be affected. City staff will continue to monitor weather and road conditions throughout the day on Tuesday."
